The development of Vocam began in June 2019 in Pasadena and was completed in September 2019. Chenchen Fan conducted extensive research on the existing market and user pain points to inform the design process. Through ideation sketches and 3D modeling, a prototype was created to test the size and basic functionality. The result is a thoughtfully crafted camera that addresses the challenges faced by vloggers and enhances their creative potential.

Vocam has already garnered recognition in the design community, receiving the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Video and Broadcasting Equipment category in 2021.
